Arrivals and Departures
Moulton Pre-school meets daily Monday - Friday. Morning sessions are from 9.00-12.00, afternoon sessions from 12.00 - 3.00.
On arrival please allow the children to self select their name cards, Parents / Carers should help the children to do this until they are able to recognize their own name. The cards are placed on a table in the entrance and are then to be put into a box in the main play room, please encourage the children to go to an Auntie who will help them with their coats. (All coats should be clearly labelled with the child’s name)
It is the responsibility of individual parents to ensure that their child has safely entered the main hall. They should feel free to stay with their child until it is settled with an activity. The supervisor on duty will be responsible for marking the register at the beginning of each session
The outside door will be locked prior
to the registration for the safety of the children. Parents must therefore
be encouraged to arrive promptly. Late arrivals cause disruptions
and distractions to the smooth running of each session.
At the end of the session parents should assemble outside the gate at the garden entrance to collect their children. Parents are encouraged to be punctual.
The back door will be opened and the children will only be allowed to leave the room if accompanied by their parent or nominated carer.
Separated or divorced parents not named on the registration form should not be allowed to pick up a child without prior consent of the primary carer.
If a parent/carer arrives to collect a child and is deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the child’s best interests would need to be taken into account, therefore the Pre-School staff would not hand over the child. A staff member would telephone or visit the nominated carer, specified by the parents on the registration form, to arrange for that person to take responsibility for the child. If, however, no one could be contacted the police or a social worker would be informed.
The Supervisor should always be informed
if someone other than the parent or nominated carer is to collect the child.
This should also be written in the message book which is on the table in
the foyer and will be signed by the supervisor on duty.
