Parental Involvement Policy
Parents are the first educators of their young children. The aim of the group is to support their essential work, not to supplant it.
We will:
1. Make all new parents aware of the group’s systems and policies.
2. Encourage parents, on an individual basis, to play an active part in the management of the group. Each new parent will be invited to attend the committee meeting taking place during their first term at Pre-School.
3. Ensure that all parents have opportunities to contribute from their own skills, contacts, knowledge and interests to the activities of the group.
4. Ensure that all parents are fully informed about meetings.
5. Welcome the contributions of parents, whatever form these may take.
6. Make known to all parents the systems for registering queries, complaints or suggestions.
7. Provide opportunities for parents to learn about the Pre-School curriculum and about young children’s learning, in Pre-School and at home.
8. 8. Encourage parental
involvement by means of a voluntary rota system. This assists the Staff,
enabling them to maximise time spent with the children. Anyone able to
join the rota should sign the blank sheet on the notice board in the entrance
hall, one person per session please.
